Considering CiviCRM in the cloud but need some help?

Using CiviCRM in the cloud is a great option to get started, in most cases immediately. And while cloud hosting removes many of the technical complexities of managing your infrastructure and systems, it doesn’t necessary address your operational complexities nor how best to use the CRM. When evaluating a CiviCRM Cloud partner, consider:

  • Services
Consider the relationship you foresee needing with your provider.

Most, if not all, CiviCRM Cloud partners offer other services that complement their subscription offering. These can include trainings, custom development, overflow capacity, etc. Using a cloud partner often involves more than just using their product, it involves leveraging their expertise in some other capacity.

  • Support
Look for a provider that best fits with your expectations and operations.

The term “support” can mean many different things to different people. It’s important to understand very clearly what “support” means for your organization, i.e. what are your expectations, and match them with the provider. Consider their position on fixing bugs, response times, and processes for managing requests.

  • Pricing
Evaluate pricing to include the cost today as well as when your organization’s needs grow.

All offerings come with different pricetags, usually associated with increased capabilities or funcationality. Consider not only an ideal starting point for your organization, but also how much room you have to grow.

  • Technical
Define your technical needs first and then confirm with your ideal provider that they meet your expectations.

CiviCRM Cloud partners apply different constraints both on their technical setup as well as how that is managed. For example, some offer a website, and others not. Some may allow users to install extensions, others may restrict that and support only a limited number of extensions. Some may use servers in the US, others in the EU. All important considerations!

Choosing CiviCRM in the cloud is a great way to get up and running quickly. If you have requirements that are not easily matched with the partner details above and need assistance, please use the form below to contact the CiviCRM Core Team.
