The world’s largest and most diverse environmental network (IUCN) uses CiviCRM to manage thousands of people at its annual congress
The International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) is a global organization dedicated to the conservation of natural resources. With an extensive network of members and projects around the world, IUCN faced challenges in efficiently managing its relationships and internal processes. To address these needs, IUCN collaborated with Ixiam to implement CiviCRM, an open-source customer relationship management (CRM) solution tailored to the needs of the nonprofit sector.
The work didn’t stop there; in a subsequent phase, Ixiam was responsible for developing the web portal for the IUCN World Conservation Congress held in Marseille.
This year, Ixiam takes up the challenge of developing the congress portal integrated with CiviCRM.
Challenges
- Lack of a unified tool for contact and relationship management.
- Manual processes were time-consuming and error-prone.
- Need to improve efficiency in event management and communications.
- A web portal with the necessary usability to manage attendees, the program, speakers, and content.
Impact
✔ More than 1,500 members participated.
✔ More than 148 resolutions and recommendations.
✔ 39 resolutions were passed through on-site voting during the conference and 109 through online voting prior to the event.
Ixiam’s implementation of CiviCRM has enabled IUCN to manage one of the most relevant events for the network of global experts on environmental issues.
