Drupal

The Drupal integration for CiviCRM connects your website and CRM system so they work seamlessly together. It automatically keeps website users and CiviCRM contacts in sync, making it easier to manage members, donors, or event participants in one place. With this integration, you can create forms on your website that feed directly into your CRM, control who can access or edit data using Drupal’s permissions, and even display dynamic information like event listings or membership directories. In short, it helps organizations save time, reduce duplicate data entry, and create a smoother experience for both staff and website visitors.

Backdrop

Backdrop is an open-source Content Management System (CMS) built for simplicity and flexibility, and it’s especially suited for smaller teams and nonprofits. It’s a fork of Drupal 7, meaning it feels familiar to people who have used Drupal but aims to be lighter and easier to maintain.

When used with CiviCRM, Backdrop provides deep integration: when someone signs up as a user on your site, a corresponding contact is created in CiviCRM; you can set up permissions and roles to control who has access to CiviCRM features; and you can use Backdrop’s layout and “Views” tools to pull CiviCRM data (like lists of donors, events, or members) into website pages.

WordPress

WordPress is a user-friendly platform that allows individuals and businesses to create and manage websites without needing technical expertise. It offers a range of customizable themes, a drag-and-drop editor, and integrated hosting, making it accessible for beginners. Users can choose from various plans, including a free option, and can upgrade to access additional features like custom domains, advanced design tools, and e-commerce capabilities. WordPress also provides built-in security, automatic backups, and performance optimization, ensuring a reliable and scalable web presence.

Joomla!

CiviCRM integrates with Joomla! to bring full CRM functionality directly into your Joomla! website. Once installed, CiviCRM appears as a component in Joomla!, allowing you to manage contacts, contributions, events, and membership forms from within your site. You can create menu items linking to CiviCRM pages, display forms and data using your Joomla! theme, and control access based on membership or group status. Additional plugins, like CiviAuthenticate, can sync user roles and permissions between CiviCRM and Joomla!, making it easy to manage users and protect content while keeping all data centralized.
