How Amnesty International Vlaanderen Optimized CiviCRM for Fundraising

Last updated: 28 Mar, 2025

Amnesty International is a global, independent and impartial organization of more than 10 million people who stand up for a world in which all human rights are respected.

Amnesty International Vlaanderen (Flanders) has been using CiviCRM since 2011.

CiviCRM is their spider in the web, the central system where all data surrounding their contacts comes together. Data from the website, linking with peer-to-peer fundraising web apps, collecting data from door-to-door recruitment partners, all data comes together in CiviCRM. They have made great strides over the years using CiviCRM and also have more than enough challenges for the next steps, together with their partner CiviCooP.

In 2024 one of the projects was to create a CiviCRM extension which automatically collects data from street recruitment agencies and creates contacts, (recurring) donations or to be more specific SEPA mandates and activities automatically where required. The beauty of this project is that introducing a new street recruitment agency can now be done without technical support (other than making the initial connection). It is simply a question of mapping the fields, campaign, prefixes and such, making the onboarding process a lot faster.

CiviCooP

CiviCooP is a Dutch ‘coöperatie’, meaning it is a co-operative organization. The members are experienced CiviCRM boys and girls who work together on a project to project basis. Together we can cover a complete range of CiviCRM services for our customers. We like to work together with our customers to support them in having an impact on the world. Our main focus is in The Netherlands and Flanders, but we do have customers in other parts of Europe too.
