The Houston Psychoanalytic Society (HPS), a professional membership organization dedicated to advancing psychoanalytic education, faced significant challenges managing more than 60 continuing education events annually. Reliant on a patchwork of tools including Jotform, Constant Contact, spreadsheets, and a proprietary website platform, the organization’s sole staff member was burdened with repetitive manual processes, inefficient reporting, and lacking member self-service.

To streamline operations, HPS implemented a unified CiviCRM + WordPress system that streamlined the entire event lifecycle—from a dynamic event listing and registration through evaluation and certificate delivery. Member and non-member pricing is applied automatically while supporting multiple pricing modes, Zoom attendance is tracked back in CiviCRM, and certificates are sent automatically to those who attended.

The impact has been substantial. Administrative workload has been reduced by several hours per week, accreditation reporting to APA and APsA is simplified through a real-time participants dashboard, and members now benefit from a modernized website with dynamic event listings and a “find a therapist” directory.
